Classification: Immigration
Surnames: Glinski, Helinsky
I have just started searching my ancestory. I have only been able to obtain information back to my Grandfather, Sam Glinski from Utica, New York. This is what I know:
Sam was born around 1889, and died in Utica, NY. He immigrated to the US from Hamburg, Germany in 1910 on the ship "President Lincoln", a Hamburg-American line. He is listed on the ship's log as possibly Sam Helinsky (?) from Russia. It appears that he had a brother in Russia at the time of immigration. He found a alledgedly found a place to live in the home of the parents of his future wife, at 18 Salina Street, Utica New York. Sam became a U.S. Citizen on June 9, 1931 in Utica, NY and died in Utica in 1933.
If any one could point me in a direction on where I should begin looking for more information I would really appreciate it.
