My Dad was called Bacyl Gregory Glinski 25.03.1917. He was born in the Ukraine, but his parents were both Polish. I think he came from a large family of seven. His dad was a farmer. He joined the Polish army to escape. He was injured in Italy during WW2 and was sent to England to recover. My dad married Herta and had three children.

I am trying to find info on the Glinski family either from Dunkirk or Tonawanda(near Buffalo) New York. Marguerite (Maggie)b. 1836 Poland, her daughter Estella, and son Frank b. 1873 Poland. They emigrated here in 1888. Any ideas of where to look would be helpful. Estella is my grandfather, Francis Thomas Czysz' mother. Also looking for Estella's husband's line. His name was Michael Czysz b. 16 Sept 1872 in Krzywagora, Poland. He lived in the Dunkirk and Buffalo area of New York after coming here with a brother on 28 Feb 1892 from Bremen. Any info much appreciated.

I am looking for information on my grandmother Jeannette F. Glinski. My dad (Jeannette is his mother) told me that she was born in Toledo, Ohio or in that area and her parents were born in Poland. She was born 20 Mar 1817 and died 22 Sep 1987, in Arizona, I believe in Chandler. She is buried next to her husband James W. Mylek in Toledo, OH. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Glinski from Utica, New York

I have just started searching my ancestory. I have only been able to obtain information back to my Grandfather, Sam Glinski from Utica, New York. This is what I know:

Sam was born around 1889, and died in Utica, NY. He immigrated to the US from Hamburg, Germany in 1910 on the ship "President Lincoln", a Hamburg-American line. He is listed on the ship's log as possibly Sam Helinsky (?) from Russia. It appears that he had a brother in Russia at the time of immigration. He found a alledgedly found a place to live in the home of the parents of his future wife, at 18 Salina Street, Utica New York. Sam became a U.S. Citizen on June 9, 1931 in Utica, NY and died in Utica in 1933.

If any one could point me in a direction on where I should begin looking for more information I would really appreciate it.
