I don't have any Glogaus, but we are very distantly related. Your Allen is the great-grandson of my great-great grandfather's brother. I have some information on your side of the family, if you are interested. I've been collecting everything I can find on all of them, although I concentrate mainly on my own line. Much too much information for this post, but if you're interested, e-mail me and I'll share what I know! jkoepfler@noln.com

I never heard of Wilbur or Charles Gollow, but Louise Glogau (my maternal grandmother) married Allan Gollow in Hudson County. His father's name was Fred & his mom's name was Mary. As far as I know, he had 1 sister named Gladys.Allan's mom & dad had a house on 82nd st in North Bergen, NJ.Maybe Wilbur & Charles were cousins. Seems very possible because the Gollow name is rare in Hudson County. If you find a link I'd love to know! Maybe we're related somehow! Do you have Glogaus in your family?

Hi,
I wish I knew for sure, but since that name is spelled the same and they are in the same town, I would be surprised if they were NOT related.
Bill
NYGenealogy.com
http://www.genealogybuff.com

Uncle Arthur was the eldest of 4. Next was my aunt, Erma Glogau Balcombe, my grandmother, Louise Edna Glogau Gollow, and lastly, Philip Glogau. Their mom lived in Fairview, NJ when she died. Unfortunately, I don't know what her 1st name was or their father's name. I remember visiting cousins in White Plains, NY by the names of Kate & Frank Arndt. Is that a familiar name? Thanks, again.
D.Fabiano

Search for Descendants of Amalie Glogau Polack

Amalie Glogau (b. September 21, 1837 in Hamburg, Germany) was the daughter of Lazarus Moses Glogau and Jette Margolien (married August 24, 1831. Amalie married Isaac Polack (year unknown). According to a supplement to Lazarus Moses Glogau's "biography", Amalie (known as Malchen) had 5 sons and 2 daughters (including a Toni Polack). Two of these sons included a Max Polack and a Rudolph Polack, both of whom emigrated to the New York City. Max later returned to Germany (Paderborn) and died in the Shoah.

If anyone knows of the fate of the remaining 5 children please let me know.

Eric
