My Great-Grandfather Edward Goben was born in Iowa in 1867 to Joseph and Alice. He married Emma Jacobs in Rock Island County in 1886. Their two children were Elmer and Frank Goben (my grandfather).

I find Joseph was the son of William Goben and Elizabeth Knox. William Goben is the son of Hugh Goben b 1765. Can anyone verify this? Does any one have information on who Hugh Goben's, b 1765 Jamestown VA, parents were?
