Hi Chase,
Same spelling too! My husband's greatgrandfather, Joseph Gochnauer was born in PA in 1833 and died in East Berlin, PA on March 2, 1907. He maried Louise/Laura Stauffer, born 1846 in PA and died on March 10, 1920 in East Berlin, PA. They had 2 children, Daniel Albert Gochnauer, born April 13, 1868, in East Berlin and died in Baltimore. Another child died at 11 years old.Daniel Albert and his wife Cora Ella Cleaver camt to Baltimore about 1900.I don't know if this is part of your family or not. In East Berlin, PA, members of the same family spelled their name different ways. At York County Historical Society, They have on record 33 different spellings.
