Hello,
I can tell you thay some Gockleys in fact are Caquelin, a French name from a small alsatian region called Le Ban de la Roche ; this region provided many migrants to America, espacially at the occasion of the arrival of the ship Princess Augusta in 1736. If you can speak French, you will be able to read my virtual book Les Voyageurs de la Princess Augusta, at this adress : http://badonpierre.free.fr/princess2/f001.html ; if you do not speak French, I hope you will enjoy the illustrations, and guess something of the pedigrees, for which I use this international code : o = birth ; x = marriage ; + = death.
Have a good day
Monique
