Hello!
The person in the subject line was my great-great grandfather. Hoping someone can hook me up to his parents. Here's what I've got on him:
b. ?
d. March 1883 at McGregor, Iowa
Native of Ohio and a printer by trade. Forman of the North Iowa Times for 22 years at McGregor, Iowa. Married Jennie McMannis (b. ? d. Feb. 12, 1900) Apparently Milton was quite well known in the Clayton County area of Iowa.
Only one child, as far as I know (Fred S.)
Fred S. Goddard (my great-grandfather)
b. March 6, 1862 at McGregor, Iowa
d. 1915
Married Anna Erickson in 1886 at McGregor, Iowa. Anna was born Dec. 28, 1859 at Orhunda, Sweden, immigrated with her parents to Iowa in 1865, and died in June of 1932 at Ellendale, North Dakota. Fred attended school in McGregor until the age of 17, when he started work at the North Iowa Times. After five years with the Times, he moved to Ellendale, Dickey County, North Dakota in 1883 where he entered claim to land, which he ended up selling at the end of the year. Fred then took a position with the Dickey County Leader newspaper and worked there until 1887, when he bought an interest in the Leader. Fred and Anna had two sons, Robert M., who died in infancy, and Herbert J.
