Cant tell you anything about her but from what i know some godette's ran away to canda as slaves and they were from a small community in havelock nc called harlowe that might be some help.

I am looking for any information relevant to a Regina Godette born approx 1872, in Canada. She moved to Granby, Mass. She ran a local dairy farm and raised several children by herself after her husband was fatally injured when kicked by a horse on the dairy farm.

Any information you may have is greatly appreciated-specifically looking for parents and place of birth right now though.

My Grandfather's name is William Henry Godette. He passed a few years ago. I do know that many of the people with the last name Godette who were in North Carolina migrated to Virginia and there are a number of us concentrated in the Richmond, VA area and the Tidewater region.

My sister name is Donna Godette and my brother name is Arthur Godette. I Think my sister is about 37 and my brother might be forty. My brother is named after his father but I don't think he is a (Jr). We have different fathers hence the different last names. I was born to Queenester Mongtomery in providence RI in 1974. We all lived together in Hartford Connecticut for awhile with Arthur Godette. I know we have some family in North Carolina & South Carolina they always used to come visit us int the summer-time. my name surname is collins my great great grandmother was lena adams of adams creek in harlowe. she married a man whose last name was lindsey. I assume they stayed in harlowe in adams creek because they had at least two daughters one named sara and the other martha lindsey of adams creek. Both girls married two brothers last name saunders. martha lindsey saunders is my grandmother. my tree ends with her.i think her mother lena adams lindsey is burried in adams creek cemetary according to my mother doris saunders daughter of martha lindsey saunders. please help me find my great great grand mother lena adams lindseys' brother or parents or some one from the adams family. I am 46yrs old I have 3 grandchildren not yet of age to wonder where thy came from but some day i would like to show them their family tree.

Also, what kind of things are there to do for kids? Zoos? Parks? Anything that would interest 5, 7, & 10! What kind of churches are in the area?

We are preparing to attend the family reunion for the first time and I was wondering what to expect.

Hi, I have just found this website. My name is Nicole and i too was born in New York City. I know that my father's family is from NC (new bern?, new berg?, havelock?)but i have not been there since my grandmother died in 1987 but i was too young to remember anything. Her name was Mary Godette and was married to Charles Godette. He owned a barber shop. They both died that year. My great grandparents name on Mary's side of the tree was Mary(nurse) and she married Samuel Brock(railroad conductor). I believe they had 4 or 5 children. Samuel(served in the military for 30 years), Lonnie aka Bobbie, Walter aka Hannas, my grandama Mary and her sister(name unknown).
I have never met another Godette that wasnt in my immediate family sorta. My aunt(Barbara Godette), my dad(Fernie Godette), and my uncle(charles Godette)with my cousins(Alicia, Antwone and Myisha) from them are the only relatives that i have ever met up until last year. I just met my fathers nephew Terry Godette that was born to my dads late sister Gloria and know of his sister Regina but have never met her. The family moved to new york after my uncle charles, who is now 57, was born on the back porch and delivered by my greatgrandma.
I have been tracing the tree so i have some info but not a bunch. We have never been to any Godette family reunions and it seems that we lost all contact with our family in NC after my grandma died. Please help me reconnect.

My maternal great grandfather is John Godette from NC, who's son was John Godette and he married my grandmother Alberta Godett, they have 6 daughters. Jacquelyn Godette-Teal, Joann Boyd, Althea Lloyd, Sheila Pearson, Debra Reavis and Theresa Godett. Theresa Godett is my mother. I am one of two I have a sister. That is a good thing, I remember Terri, she was very nice. She was just a little older than me. Your family would always go to Grandma Godette's for Christmas on Cairn Street. This is really a small world. Havent seen any of your side of the family since Uncle Jim's funeral.

My grandfather Henry Godette came from Canada to New York ended in Rochester for over 50 years on Carin Street. I don't know if he was an relation to you or not He married Jeanette Tierson and had 5 childern, leanora, Charles, James, June and Janet . I was told that he changed the spelling from Gaudette to Godette. My dad Charles was born in 1913 and he was the second oldest.

Thank you for your reply. The picture of my grandmother and her aunt was taken in Bogalusa, LA. but they are not members of the Godette family the Godettes are my mother's paternal relatives. I do know that quite a few of our relatives live in LA. As a matter of fact I believe one of my great-uncles, who is related to the Godette family. lives in Cameron, LA. his name is Willie Nolon.

Yes I did hear about that. He is the second son my great grandmother has lost in the last two years (my grandfather Ardie died in March of last year) Unfortunately I never got a chance to meet my grandfather or any of the elder relatives in his family, though I would like to. My mom lost touch with her father when she got married. But 11 years ago two of her half sisters located us and we got a chance to meet them. It has only been recently that I have been trying to find out more about this part of my family.

I've only visited NC once years ago when my grandfather, Alvin Godette, passed away. I know they usually have a family reunion around July. I can find out as much as I can and pass it along to you.

Yeah He was married to my grandmother's sister, Bertha. Did you know that he passed away a few months ago? My grandmother Angeline was married to Alvin Godette, my grandfather. Angeline and Bertha are sisters. My grandmother passed quit a few years ago, but Aunt Bertha is still in Cameron. I don't know any family from Bougalousas.

Just dicovered my Great Grandfather Antonelle was married to a lady by the name of Lillian Gaudette, born Michigan abt 1859-69 and her parents were from Canada and spoke French according to the census records. This was my Great Grandfather's second marriage.

They lived in the Los Angeles area and they are buried in Oakland, Ca. Have some names on her side of the family, Mrs. George Cartier, Mrs Vila Crosby, Robert Gaudette.
