My grandmother's grandfather's mother was Lucy E. Godley, born 1843; her father, William, born 1819; his father, Edward, born 1798; his father, William, born 1771; and finally his father, Edward, born 1749. All lived in New Jersey for most if not all of their lives, except for the original Edward, who apparently moved to and died in Virginia in the early 1800s.
