Anna Margaretha GOES m. Johann Adam STURM

I am also researching the name Goes. Anna Margaretha Goes was my GGG grandmother. She married Johann Adam Sturm. He was from Germany so I assumed she was too, but after reading other posts, I understand she could have been from a few other countries. I have no other information on them other than descendants. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sandy Steele

GOES family in Wisconsin in 1850s

I am searching for information on Gustav Karl Georg Goes, born 27 Sep 1852, Richtenau. Died Mar 19 1934 or 1935 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He married Emily K. Best 1906 in Milwaukee. Emily was born 3 Jun 1862 in Milwaukee and died 12 June 1949. They had five children, Elsie, Jack, Nannette Dorthy, George and Duk Goes.

I believe that the parents of Gustave Goes were, Emmerich Goes, 1817 - 1872 and his wife Kunigunde Stoehr 1828 - 1860.

GOES from Switzerland > Wisconsin

I am a Goes living in Wisconsin. My father, Ernest Joseph Goes lived in Glidden, Wisconsin. His father, Frederick W. Goes, came to America from Switzerland. According to some family scuttle butt, someone had traced the family tree years ago, back to Queen Isabella of Spain. To date I have not been that lucky to find any tracing past Switzerland.
