I am trying to trace the Goldston family out of Chatham County. My father is Edward P Goldston and his mother was Claytie Goldston and his father was J Frank Goldston out of Pitssboro, NC and although they have the same last name they were not related so my father tells me. If anybody knows anything email me at msbgoldston@yahoo.com.

I do need to post a correction to my earlier statement.. The book that I have is about the Browers....it gives the lineage of Mary Ann Brower and Gillis Goldston. Other than his parents that is the only information about the Goldstons in the book.

You may already have this information by now but here it is.
WILEY LASITER GOLDSTON, a son of REUBEN GOLDSTON and SUSANNA
WATSON(?) was born in Anderson , Tennessee, May 9, 1820. He died in the community of Oakdale, Tennessee. Most of the Goldstons who are natives to Roane and Morgan Counties can trace their ancestry to this man. He married twice. First (1st) to SAPHRONIA BELEW on September 28,1846 in Roane County, Tennessee. Wiley married his second (2nd) wife; NANCY STURGIS in Roane County, Tennesse, June 17, 1862. He had a large family with both wives.
This was furnished to me when I was trying to find information on him. (My GGrandfather) I haven't confirmed the info though. Good luck.
I'm needing their......Name, DOB/Place, DOD/Place, Marital Information, Their Childrens Information.

Any help will be greatly appreciated as I've hit a brick wall with this family grouping.

I do already have all the census', except for the 1920 for Carl. I cannot find him anywhere. And after the 1930 census its like the family fell off the earth.

I am transcribing the Evergreen Cemetary in Ontario, Malheur Co., Oregon and thought I would post pictures of the Pre-1900 headstones for those interested in having them. This is a very large cemetary, there is a possibility there could be other family members buried here after this time period. If you are interested in them, I can look for them specifically.

I Have a Golston buried in Bethlehem Methodist Cemetery, Holly Springs, MS about 30 miles south southeast of Memphis, Tn. The first name ends in "ie" the date on it only shows 181??. Believe this to be one of your Goldston's, because Manerva Bradberry Poe, born 1816 is buried beside them. Any ideas on who this Goldston may be? Manerva and her sister both lived in Marshall County in 1850. Her sister "Sally" married Willis Duncan. Manerva married W.G. Poe. W.G. Poe and Manerva are both buried in Bethlehem.

I know something about Wiley Albert Goldston, we have his bible, he was my ggrandfather. I have a picture of him holding me when I was just a few months old. He died on August 11, 1955. It was the birthday of his only daughter, Fay Lucille. His children were Roger Lester, born Sept. 16, 1902, died March 20, 1962. Albert Paul, born Dec. 23, 1903, died Nov. 18, 1955. Howard Edgar Goldston, born Nov. 3, 1905, died May 14, 1945. Fay Lucille, born Aug. 11, 1911, died Juyl 15, 1995. I have a video tape that I made Dec. 27, 1989 of Fay telling the family history. It isn't very good but it's fun to watch. I plan on putting it on DVD when I get my new computer. I will send you a copy if you would like. Have a great Christmas, I hope to hear from you soon. neeneestewart@yahoo.com, Renee

Jana, a Goldston genealogy written in 1955 by Herbert J. Goldston has just been published for the first time on a web site www.goldstonnc.com It goes into much detail about the "Tennessee" side of the Goldston Family. Search on Jolley, Lamberth, William Goldston, Charles Goldston. I transcribed the history as Herbert wrote it and I'm sure some given names and surnames are misspelled.
I found a post on your message board from someone looking for her long lost father. I know this is my half-sister whom I have considered contacting many times in my life but have had no means of doing so. I know this board is not for Robert Goldston, but when I tried to respond to the e-mail given on her message, it was an incorrect address. I can see that this board has been here for a long time and I am hoping that perhaps she contacted one of you in the hopes that you belonged to the same family. She would have been searching for Robert Goldston, and in her message she knows that he was a writer and that he had a bunch of daughters and that we were raised in Spain. If anyone knows anything or has any means for me to contact her I would greatly appreciate it. If you feel uncomfortable giving me information about her, than if you have the means - could you please tell her that I have responded to her message and she can find my response here at this board.
thank you so much
Francesca Goldston

I have seen your messages posted and have been very interested in speaking with you. I have done a lot of work, that I must contribute to you. Because of your messages posted I have been to the Y-12 plant, Crab Orchard Cemetary, and even found and met with John Strunk.
