I am researching my husband's family and can get back to his great-grandfather, George. George married Katherine Weiler at St. Boniface Catholic Church in New Germany, Ontario, Canada 14 May 1888. He stated he was born in Alsace France and his age put his birth at abt. 1866. The marriage registration indicates his father is Larentz Gonter and mother Christina Fankhauser. The 1910 US Census for Wayne County Michigan indicates he immigrated in 1885 (US or Canada?). The only additional information I have is that he may have had a sister in New York named Maria. Has anyone any additional information of where George may have come from?
