I am trying to write a lesson plan for my students on the 1st Marines in the American colonies. Sir William Gooch became the Commanding Officer of the 43rd Regiment of Foot in the 1600's. This unit is historically known as the first American Marines and the design that the Continental Marines were patterned from. I am trying to find a picture of Sir William Gooch for my presentation. I am hoping that one of the decendents of Sir William might be able to help.
Thank you for your assistance.
