I am researching the family of Ransom Goodrich of Alpena, Michigan. Ransom and his family came to Alpena, Michigan circa 1884 from Wingham, Ontario. They can be found in the Canadian census of 1871, but the named was listed as GODERICH. The oldest son, George, was born in Colborne, Ontario in 1854. (George is my gr. granfather.) Ransom was born in Massachusetts 12 February 1822, but I can't locate his birth record. Ransom's parents were Marvin Goodrich and Lucy Shed. I may be missing a geneartion between Ransom and Marvin.
