Wellington Goodrich born 29, December 1841, @Powell, Liberty Township, Delaware County, Ohio to Joel Goodrich (b. 1812 in New York to Joseph Goodrich son of Pvt. John 3rd Goodrich (Rev. War Vet and John's wife Abagail Price) and Joseph's wife Abiah Slater born 20th Oct. 1781 daughter of Benjamin Slater and his wife Lydia Stephens. John 3rd Goodrich, father was Benjamin Goodrich, whose father was Benjamin Goodrich, whose father was Lt. William Goodrich, whose father was Ens. William Goodrich the settler. Joel Goodrich, Wellington's father, married Melinda Slane, born 1812/1813 in Virginia. Wellington had the following siblings: Delilah born 1838; Horace Lathrop born 1840, Wellington 1841, died 1910 Anderson, McDonald County, Missouri, Hilu (Nela Ann) Goodrich 1843, Mary Jane Goodrich 1845, Martha Melinda Goodrich 1847, Franklin L. Goodrich 1852.
After Serving in the Civil War and becoming somewhat deaf, he married Eliza Smith on 30th of January 1868, adminstered by Sqr. Smith. This was a first marriage for both of them. They had the following children: Martha Goodrich b. Feb. 14, 1870; Sumner b. Sept. 19, 1871 (never married) Warren b. July 15, 1873; Joseph born March 3, 1876 Hoaglin, Van Wert, Ohio; Mary born Oct. 24, 1880, Florence b. August 21, 1881, Roland b. Dec. 11, 1884 and Wellington Jr. born Dec. 14, 1886. Wellington and Eliza left Ohio, about 1877/78, and went to Ford County, Kansas, (Spearville), and Mary, Florence, Roland and Wellington Jr. all born in Kansas. Eliza died in Nevada, Missouri about 1904 and Wellington Sr. married for the second time to a Martha Ann Harmon born July 16, 1875 in Greenville, Tenn. They had 3 more children of that union, Roosevelt Byron Goodrich, Roy Lamson Goodrich, and Sarah Lanora Goodrich born April 5, 1910. Wellington Goodrich died Dec. 1910 in Anderson, McDonald Co.
