Dear All,

I have my family tree on my mothers side (Gore) dating to a Henry Goare D 1558. In England as I look back the spelling of Gore changed to Goore recorded 1704 then remained this back to 1650 when it was previosly termed Gooer. Then from 1637 Goare as far back as I have records ; that is back to a Henry Goare who died 1558.

They have links to two titled families but all resided in the N west of England close to an area called Up Holland ( small settlement) I believed that the original name Gooer was of Dutch descent with the additional clue of "UpHolland" the area mostly settled here.

Please could anyone throw any light on this Dutch connection
Or does anyone have any links with Gores in the North West of England

Kind Regards

Mark Dodd
