I am researching a John Gorny who married a Frances Szmarcka in Chicago, married 07/09/1881. They had several children - Priscilla, John Jr., Casimir, Pelagia/Bessie, Valentina and then a son Leon who was from a previous marriage of one or the other.

Family history conflicts, by some accounts he was a Viennese gentleman and by another account they this family lived in farm or country type land on the fringes of Chicago. These Gorny's married Poles...

I am curious if anyone has any connections to the Gorny's in Chicago? A Polish anniversary card from another family that married into this one listed the surname as 'Gorna'.
