I am seeking information on Sarah Gortney. My great-grandmother, Minerva Beck Carmichael, died in Seattle in 1922. Sarah Gortney is listed as her mother on Minerva's death certificate. The certificate says Sarah Gortney was from South Carolina. Minerva's father is listed as Geoffrey Beck. Minerva and many of her siblings were born in Georgia. The family moved to Neosho, Missouri about the time of the civil war.
