Hi Mary,
I just came across your query. My wife is from a brother to your Anna Maria -- David. I have a little info on George Gossard/Catherine Knode-Kanode-Canode. I only have 7 children for them and no Anna. There was a Mary who was born 1832 in Antrim Twp., Franklin Co., PA. I live in Hagerstown, MD where there is a large Gossard clan. There is a large genealogy book in our local library on this family.. If I can be of any help I will try.........Larry

I am a descendent of George Gossard and Catherine Knode through their grandson Jeremiah b. 4 Mar 1855 d. 31 Dec 1918. He was the son of George and Catherine's son George b. 1 Feb 1817 d. 18 June 1858 married to Mary Jane Angle (Clopper.)

I have seen from the census records that George and Catherine owned a very large farm in Antrim Twp. of Franklin County, PA in 1860 and 1870. (Their name is spelled Gossert in these records.) Then, in Quincy Twp. there is Jacob Gossert who also had a large farm. What I am wondering is, were Jacob and George brothers? And if so, who were their parents and did they come from Lancaster or York PA, and were these farms possibly land grants from service in the Rev. War. I would surely like to read that geneology book from the Hagerstown library. Wonder of it would shed any light? Does it say if the line originated in Germany?

-Kate.

I do show Anna Maria having a brother named David. Born 3-2-1827 to 8-29-1902. Married twice. 1. Mary Catherine Elliott. 9-4-1833 to 9-9-1868. Had 14 Children 2. Margaret (Maggie) Watkins 6-9-1846 to 10-27-1926 Had 10 Children. I really don't trust my information. It list Anna Maria as the 5th child out of 10 but her date of birth makes her 1st. Other brothers were John,George & William. Sisters were Catherine (Brumbaugh), ? married to charilie Banks, Susan (Stine), Elizabeth (Ringer) and Amanda (Heckman) Do any of these name show up in you line? She was born June 22, 1809 and died April 6, 1887. Both are buried in Washington Cemetery S.W. of Greenup Ill. Could Anna Maria be part of your family tree? Will appreciate any information you can give me.

If you have any info please email me at Paula9698@aol.com I really appreciate any info as I'm not really sure where to go from here without the parents first names.
I am looking for any information on Isaac Gochet/Gossard/Gushert who died in Lancaster County, PA about 1810. I found a will abstract in "Abstract of Lancaster County Wills" at p. 384. The will names his wife Elizabeth and, among other children, his daughter Julian Ann, wife of Ludwig Dietrich.
