I have been researching my genealogy for awhile now, and none has been harder than Gossett. My grandfather's name is J.P. (Pete) Gossett; his father was Elbert Leroy Gossett; Elbert's father was James Franklin Gossett. That's about it. I learned today that there is a very possible Indian connection (Elbert's great great grandmother maybe). She died on the Trail of Tears. I've traced my family from Winston County, Alabama to Blount County, Alabama; I cannot go any farther. Can anyone help? I also learned today that a Mrs. Whisonant researched this line; she was a Gossett before she married and lives around Cullman
