Surnames: gauthier/Gotchy
Do you know if your Francis Gauthier/Gotchy also had a son named Adolphies? All I know is that my g-grandfather, Adolphies, was born in St. Genevieve QB about 1835 to Francis Gauthier. I do not know the mother's name. I grew up pronouncing the name Gotchy but it was alway spelled Gauthier.
