John Thomas Gough was b. 1 May 1821 Killarney, Kerry, Ireland, moved first to Boston then to San Francisco, where he d. 13 Jan. 1870. First wife Mary d. 1856, Boston; mar. 2nd in San Francisco Dora. By Mary he had 4 children:
1. Katherine Gough(1844-1926), mar. George A. Lockhart (my line).
2. Thomas Jefferson Gough (1847-aft. 1920), an accountant in San Francisco, mar. Rebecca Patterson; father of James Walter and Emile Jefferson Gough.
3. James Edward Gough(18 Sep. 1850-15 Aug. 1911), plumber and teamster in San Francisco, mar. Harriet A. Sharp.
4. Mary Ann Gough, b. Dec. 1854, appears to have married Matthew Cubit Maunder of San Francisco.
