Classification: Query
Surnames: GOULARTE, BAPTISTA, SEQUEIRA, AMAREL
My great grandfather was Manuel Silveira Goularte, born in Feteira, Faial, Azores in 1872. He immigrated to California and married Philomena Pereira ROSA in Centerville (now Fremont), Alameda County, CA. They had two daughters and his wife, aka Minnie, died.

Manuel remarried in 1910 to Rosaria Gloria BAPTISTA, born around 1887 in Portugal or Azores, in Centerville. They had the following children that I would like to find information on:

Edward Richard Goularte, born 1911
Manuel, born 1913 but died young
Minnie born 1914
Andrew born 1916
Joseph born 1918

Manuel Silveira Goularte died 18 Sep 1938 in Irvington, Alameda County, CA.

Rosaria Goularte died in 1938. Both are buried in Centerville.

Any information on this family would be most appreciated. The surname could be spelled in different ways; Goularte, GOULART, GULARTE, GULART.

In addition, Manuel's older brother, Jose Silveira Goularte immigrated to Alameda County, CA as well. He married Rosaria Florinda Amarel about 1895 in Alameda County. He had the following children I would also like to trace:

Manuel P. Goularte, born 1898, married Aldina SEQUEIRA
Joe, born about 1901
Frank, born about 1909

Jose Silveira Goularte died in 1941, his wife, Rosaria, died in 1952.

I have traced the ancestors of Manuel & Jose Goularte and invite you all to check it out on my website: http://www.pacifier.com/~kcardoz
Click on my Family Tree.

Also, I am the coordinator for the Azores GenWeb site and invite you to come and see what there is there to aid in your research of Azorean ancestors.

Thanks and happy hunting to us all!
Kathy
