Annie May Grabert Johnson

I have a photo of a girl I believe to be Annie May Grabert, circa 1910. I am not personally related to her, however, my great-grandmother, Johannah Scheel is named as a servant in this household in the 1910 US Census. Annie's father was William Grabert and her mother was Emma. The family lived in Boyertown, Berks Co, Pennsylvania. I know that Annie lived in Boyertown until at least 1930, when she was married to Henry Johnson and had a 5 year old daughter named Mildred.

I am interested in confirming that the photo is actually of Annie (Grabert) Johnson, as well as getting any information that is available about the family around 1910, when my great-grandmother lived in the household. My belief is that my great-grandparents met in this household, as my great-grandfather Howard Youse also lived as a boarder there in 1910.

If any of these names ring bells for you, please email me at holly@hollywest.com.

Thank you!
Holly West

Charles Grabert (Helena)

I am searching for any info at all on Charles Grabert. He supposedly had children Charles, Helena, Mary and a couple of others. Mary married Phillip Huss and lived in Lakewood NJ.
Helena married Henry Weber and had maybe six children. I know of two: "Gus" and Rudolph Lincoln (born Feb. 1895) Gus would be about three years older and Helena is thought to have died
before 1900. Henry: who knows? Some say he died 1900, but Mary Huss looked for him up till l945. The son Rudolph rode the Orphan Train to Texas and settled there with a family named Vick. In
1916 he married the Vick daughter and began his family. Their oldest son, Charlie, was my father-in-law. I really need some lead on this Henry Weber. It's thought that he worked in a
restaurant, maybe in New York City. The Orphan Train operated out of NYC. I know who put Rudy in the Children's Aid Society, and I know about Mary Huss and her family. But I can't lateral over
to her sister Helena. Help!
