Hello! I am looking for records of my grandfather Wojciech Affek, born around 1875/77 in Gora, Russia/Poland, or any Affek's from the area of Nowy Dwor Mazowiecki. I have an old envelope, written by him to a 'Tadesla and/or Michaelewa Affek' in OKUNIN, your town! So, I would like to know if your family knew any Affeks in that area. Also, is there an old Catholic church called St. Michael the Archangel near you, because my grandfather may have been baptised there. He came to U.S.A. in 1913, married Zuzanna Zugaj in NYC (from Warsaw), and came to Connecticut where I am from, and live now. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you very much! -- Arlene (Affek) Rivard

Dear Anita!
I come from the family Grabski (I am married). If you want to have more information about Grabski families, write to me. Don’t you speak Polish? Perhaps do you speak German? My English is rather poor.

best regards from Warsaw
Ela

p.s. The well-known estate of Grabski’s family near Warsaw was in “Gołąbki” (now a part of Warsaw - Ochota). In Gołąbki lived our prime minister Władysław Grabski (before the second war) with his family. His father come from BOROWO near Łęczyca (ca. 100 - 150 km from Warsaw).
Try this www-side:
http://gnu.univ.gda.pl:2317/jurand?lang=en&m=NG&n=Gr...

Looking for any information on the Grabski/Grabsky family from Warsaw, Poland. They owned a farm on what was the outskirts of Warsaw and is now Warsaw Ochota. My greatgrandmother Leila Grabsky's father owned this farmland. I do not have any information about him or what his wife's name was, nor do I know if they had any other children other then Leila. My greatgrandfather, Louis Michul took the Grabski name about the time he married Leila in the mid 1800's. Louis Michul and Leila had 8 children, seven of whom survived to adulthood and all moved to the United States between 1895 and 1916. Most of them settled in New York and one of them,Harry(who was the oldest surviving son),settled in Connecticut. The other children were Sarah, Celia(my grandmother), Samuel, Rose, Helen, and Simon. No one knows the name of the oldest child(a son), who died in Warsaw at the age of 4 years when he was run over by a truck.

Do you know where outside of Warsaw this farm was? I have a location for where the farm that my great great grandparents owned was located. However what was the farm pre WW II is now apparently no longer a farm. I was told that it was leveled and there is a government owned apartment complex on what use to be the farm. Do you have any information about the family members who lived on the farm? If the location of the farm and family information matches what I have we would be related. I have an extensive Grabski/Grabsky family living in various states in the U.S. and recently found out that one relative moved to Isreal after World War II.

The farm that my great grandparents owned was a dairy farm about 2 miles southwest of Warsaw. I am still trying to find out the names of my great grandmother's parents and if she had any siblings. Her father use to make the milk cans that he sold milk in, and also made smaller containers as well.
There had been several buildings on the farm, my great grandparents had lived there with their children in one of the buildings for a short time before moving back to the city. I have a picture of my great grandparents that was taken in Warsaw.

Hello! My name is Andrzej (Andrew) Bulka.I live in Warsaw.
There are two main areas in Poland where this name exsist.
The first - Bielsko Biala and the second Nowy Dwor Mazowiecki (before the WW II - Nowy Dwor - 30 km north of Warsaw).
My famile come from Nowy Dwor & Okunin (this is the same town at this moment).I started 3 months ago but I have already checked where to search up to 1669! My last step : Bronislaw Bulka, born in 1884 in Okunin, worker, married to Marianna Arbaszewska. His father: Kazimierz. His mother: Wiera, Wanda, Wiesia (???) Marjanska.
As I think "group" of Bulka from Warsaw area come from village Okunin where I lived for 10 years.
The first church was built there in XI century!
Some part of this village was called "oledry" which is similar to "Holendry" - which means The Dutch which came to this area in XV century and were involved in trade (Okunin lies in triangle between to rivers: Narew & Wisla).
The Bulka from this area are not Jewish origin...
So my friend (relative), if your family Bulka come from Warsaw area i can recomend you to search in the internet words like: OKUNIN, PARAFIA OKUNIN (BARTOLD.COM),NOWY DWOR MAZOWIECKI and ofcourse BULKA - which has very nice meaning in polish language!
I'm looking forward for hearing from you!

Andrzej
Grabski family info

I am from Cleveland, and can tell you that there are actually two different Grabski families that settled in Cleveland. My family settled in the early 1900s (to the best of my information) I am not as familiar with the family info, but I do know that my family is very distantly related to the second (of which some members do still live... it is in the phone book!!) other than that, the rest of my family still lives in Poland. if you need more info, you can email me and i can put you in contact with someone who knows more then i.

What would you like to know about them? I have the birth certificates and names of all 13 children they had. My grandmother's father was Vincent Grabski, who I believe is one of the brothers of Jacob Grabski. Jacob and Frances are buried in Calvary Cemetery on Miles Ave. in section 1. I have that information too. Jacob had a brother John, Valentine, Vincent and maybe Anthony. Of course these are the English names, on most documents I have they are Polish names. Please contact me.

I am looking for any information on my greatgrandmother Nadia Bulka. I thought she was from Russia, though she could have been from Poland. She married Sergi Korolchuk, they lived in Detroit Mi, and had 3 children, Vera, Alexandar &
Nicholas. My grandmother Vera would have been 86 now, I am guessing Nadia was born around 1897. Any info on anything that sounds familiar would be great.

I too am researching the Grabski lineage. My husband's father was Wocjiak (Albert) Grabski, b. 4/16/1879 d. 9/1972
married to Sophiam Jakubiec,
father was Joseph Grabski and mother Theresa Bulka. Brothers and sisters, John, Bartolomiej, Andrew, Franz. Believe they were from Bialo, Poland. Immigrated around 1901-1902. Understand have relatives in Penn. Conneticut, or somewhere on the east coast.

The only information I have is very vague- mom and sisters and brothers are up in age and memories have faded - all she can tell me is that one of her parents lived outside of Warsaw on a farm. Apparently it was a very short distance to Warsaw. Father's name was Joseph Grabski who married a Theresa Bulka. I believe Wojciak had brothers, Bartolomiej, john, Andrew and Franz. Hopefully this will be of help. Wojciak settled in Minneapolis, but there are relatives on the east coast. Do no know much more.

Pat Purdes
