Any information about descendants of Irish Graal/Gralls out there in cyberspace? Not connected to Germany or France. In the parish of Moylagh, Co. Meath the surname seems to be a corruption of the Irish form of Fitzgerald: MacGerailt. The parish registers for Oldcastle, Co. Meath record the name as Geral, Gerral or Gerrall till about 1820, when suddenly all my ancestors appear as Fitzgerald. From about 1870 the name is recorded as either Grall or Graal. Three of my grandfather Thomas Graal's siblings - John, Mary [Grall] Leddy and Rose [Grall] Masterson - emigrated to Newark, New Jersey & I've been corresponding with a descendant of Rose who lives in Summit, NJ. Trying to trace 2 of Mary [Grall] Leddy's 4 children: Rose Leddy [c1885 -?] & Lille Leddy [1890 - ]. Also, anyone with information about a 4th sibling of my grandfather, Patrick Graal/Grall [1850-1906]? He ended up in New Haven, Connecticut but died on the passage back to Ireland. His Letters of Administration record him as a widower. Any clues?
