Paul W. Granby, 83 ,of 1402 Broadway St. died at 1:25 pm Sunday March 17th of 2002 at St. Mary's Hospital in Streator, Illinois.
Private funeral services will be held. The Rev.Thomas Ostrander, of First United Methodist Church of Morris Illinois will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Morris, Illinois.
There will be no visitation. Solon and Baker Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Born oct 29th of 1918 in Arthur, North Dakota he was the adopted son of Edgar and Janet Granby. He married Dorothy M. (Fredericksen) Harcharik on July 14th 1967. She survives.
Also surviving are a daughter Cheryl Granby of Vancouver, Washington; sons, Gary(Judy) Granby of Verona and William (Marge) Granby of Lutz, Fla. a stepdaugher Kristine M. (Mrs. Sam)Thomas of Streator, Illinois. 7 granchildren, 1 stepgrandson and 16 great-granchildren and a sister Mabel Nevedomskis of Cherokee Village, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Dorothy Foster and brothers. Donald Walsh, Bylr Wilkinson and Earl Wilkinson.
He was raised in Mazon and graduated from Mazon high school in 1938.
He farmed in Vienna Township. He retired 21 years ago as a construction worker at the LaSalle Nuclear Station. He was a 50 year member of the Mazon Mason Lodge and a member of Streator Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 591 where he served as lodge organist for 20 years. Memorials maybe directed to Friends of St. Mary's Hospital.
