I do hope your e-mail address is still valid after all this time. I have also been trying to track (not backward but forward,) the family of William N. Granby of Liverpool.

I have William Nicholas Granby born (Jan. 8, 1886)in Liverpool. (The date slightly out)(s/o George Granby and Ellen McWilliams) He married Mary J. Nixon in Ontario, Canada. After they married they moved to Rochester, NY. He then came back to Canada and enlisted in the Canadian Army WWI. They then returned to Rochester. Am I on the right track?
If so - please be in touch.

I have an original studio photograph of “Mr. and Mrs. Ed Granby”, which I would like to get back to family members. Photo was taken by B. B. Thorsen Studio in Morris about 1900, and each of them looks to be about age 25.

I found Edward Granby with wife Janet in Vienna Twp., Grundy Co., IL, and they had been married four years (1896), and each was age 26. With them lived Edward’s father, Theodore, age 59. In the 1920 census for Mazon (Grundy Co.), Edward A. was 46 and born IL, while Janet was 46, born Scotland.

Email me at margerice@prodigy.net if you are related to Ed and Janet Granby of Grundy Co., IL.

Hi Jackie,
Long time no see! Of course I remember you from my trip back to Iowa in the late 80's. Thanks for the e-mail and the updated info. I would love to have that photo of Laura Pearl e-mailed here if possible! I never did find my copy of it that Bette sent. The LP website was made by Mel Northup who is Daisey's youngest son. I never could get it to work for me. E-mail me at the above address and i will send you Mel's e-mail. Linda Walker may have a more recent e-mail for Mel then I do however. I imagine your mom has some of those e-mail addresses too. Feel free to just e-mail me direct, outside of this site, if you want. Also, did you know that my dad's real last name was Davis, not Granby? Linda Walker told me about that several years ago.Nice to hear from you & Merry Christmas! Jon G.

Hi Jason,

Thanks for the reply regarding my dad ( your great Grandfather).First off i was sad to hear of your grand father's passing. He was a real sweet guy. You must have seen a request i posted last spring. Some years ago your grandma gave me a bunch of info on these matters and do you think i can find them now!! I don't know what i have done with them. She also gave me some copies of photos ,from way back when, which were interesting. One of them was Laura Pearl Anderson as a girl with her dad and mother and siblings. I hope to find that photo eventually. I am gradually cleaning up around here. Have you gotten on the Laura Pearl Anderson site yet? It has been a long time since I have gotten on it. There are some things about it which i don't understand either. I am not real sharp on these computers. Well, I guess that is enough for now. Thanks again for the info. Oh, if you ever find out anything about where the folks from England came from I would like to hear about it.
Jon G
