JESUS (CHOPE) GRANILLO , 70, of Santa Fe died Saturday following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 21, 1933, in El Paso, Texas. He married Rita Chacon in 1955. He was employed for numerous years as a cement finisher with Dale Bellamah Corp. He then worked with the State of New Mexico for the Highway Department, and his last position was with Santa Fe Public School in the maintenance Department. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Maria GRANILLO. He is survived by his loving wife, Rita Granillo; daughters, Annie GRANILLO and husband Juan, Edi GRANILLO, Annette GRANILLO and husband Raymond; sons, Jose GRANILLO and wife Shirley, and Richard Kayo GRANILLO and wife Rachel; grandchildren; brothers, Cruz GRANILLO and wife Yolanda, and Willie Ortega and wife Carmen; sister, Alice Marquez; pet dog, Tony; and many other family members. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Santa Maria de la Paz Catholic Church, where a Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Santa Maria de la Paz Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rosario Cemetery. The family has requested that memorial contributions be directed to Santa Maria de la Paz building fund. Berardinelli Family Funeral Service
