Grantham Family UK Based Web Group
A world wide site for Granthams!!
I've just begun developing an MSN group for Granthams everywhere at:
http://groups.msn.com/TheGranthamFamily
I'm hoping that we can develop a place where we can make contact, help each other trace information, post photos to see if there are any family traits, and just generally get to know each other as Granthams. This will be of particular interest to those wishing to know more about Granthams in England.
There’s also other bits of information such as
• Accomplished Granthams – showing Granthams who have made their mark on history
• Living Grantham Biographies – giving backgrounds to living Granthams and helping you to learn about other family members around the globe
• Links to Grantham websites around the world and places of interest
In future I’m also planning to add family trees and also information On the town of Grantham in the county of Lincolnshire in the UK.
There were only 1,500 Granthams in the UK at the 1901 census - I don't have any info for other places yet - so we're quite a rare bunch.
I'm really interested in members from Canada (my granfather worked there in the early 1900's!), the United States (some family in Utah?), Australia (I lived there for two years and have family in Sydney), and New Zealand (God's Own Country!).
Hope that you can join us (I've had to make the site members only so I can manage it) and look forward to hearing from you and getting some postings.
Best wishes,
Ian Grantham
