That's a pretty big ask, when you've given us very little information, including your own name. From the username and email we can only assume you are Holly Grantham?

For example:- I have Grantham relatives in Australia, but as far as I know they aren't related to you. They moved over about 30 years ago from England.
If you gave more information on your Ancestors, you might get more back!
Neil

Rusha Grantham is my great grandfather. He was from the Bogalusa, LA area. He and Lola Penton had a son by the name of Myrtis. I have been unable to find hardly any information about Rusha. Lola said he was a bad man and did not want to share any information. The 1900 census indicates his father was born in Louisiana and his mother in Mississippi.

Anyone have any information about Rusha Grantham

My father is Clair Harland Grantham. He died in Rawlins,WY and his buried there. My mother is Beulah F (Crusinbery) Grantham and is still living in a long term care home in my town of Edmond, OK. I am rather new at this so not sure how to reply to you. I would be happy to exchange e-mail information. Not sure who your mother would be. I knew my Uncles Olen,Vernon and my favorite Aunt was Florence Bayless, I remember my Aunt Zadell but she died from complications of the flu in the 70's as I remember. My father worked for the UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD which was the only job he could find at that time so we did not have a lot of close ties to our families in CA or KS.

I am Clair Grantham's daughter. He passed away in Rawlins Wy and is buried there. My brother and I are his only children. Olen never married Vernon married my Aunt Lola who had 2 children but they did not have any of their own. My Aunt Florence had 3 sons, Eugene who still resides in Santa Fe CA, Leonard who passed away this spring and Virgil who passed away a year ago. My cousin Leorna Nies is in CA where she and her husband spend summers in Mono Village Ca and winter as Lake Havasue. My mother Beulah F Grantham just celebrated her 100th birthday in 08/27/2009. Lorena and my brother Paul Vernon Grantham where here with other family members to celebrate the event. Who is your mother? My father had a sister Zadell who died in the 70's I believe. Her daughter was Donna and she had a son named Jimmy Bradshaw. Zadell's first husband Raymond died in a truck accident on Wolf Creek Pass CO.

She lived in Rawlins,WY until 1987. But since my husband and I and our daughters had at that moved to Moberly, MO she left WY and made her home in MO.
Granthams from Lancashire

Seeking all connections for my Lancashire Granthams. I am 3rd great grandson of George Grantham (b 1823, Manchester) and his wife Charlotte Hargreaves (b abt 1820 Manchester). Most of my Granthams so far were born in Manchester, Salford, Rochdale and some in Cheshire. I believe some Granthams left the country but so far no links there. I found (and have now lost the source(!))a very early census that showed no Granthams in Lancashire prior to mid/late 1600's and the two that showed up were stated to have come from Lincolnshire. I would be keen to link up with anyone having similar interests. My tree is on Ancestry so feel free to browse it. Cheers, Vic Grantham, Australia.

Ron Johnson here with the Grantham Gazette. Saw the earlier post and had some trouble locating the parents of Needom GRANTHAM (1900-1980), but finally found his connection. He was the son of A. Osias GRANTHAM (1870-1933) and M. F. ANDERSON (1875-1929); grandson of Needam GRANTHAM (1837-1870) and Nancy Ann PREWITT (1843-1912); greatgrandson of Leonard GRANTHAM (1814-1870) and Drusilla BENSON (1817-1850).

Osias appears in the 1910 Census Hunt Co TX with son N. C. GRANTHAM, 9.

I am looking to trace my Grantham ancestry and am stuck with my great grandfather, Needom Carroll Grantham.

I was born in Wichita Falls in 1965 where at the time, my grandparents, great grandparents and one great great grandparent were living. I have a picture of five generations from 1965 but don't know who the great great grandparent is and can't even carry it further than that.

My great grandparents, Needom Grantham(b1900/d1980) and Alice Addie Williams(b1903/d1988) had 2 children (N.C. Grantham and Joyce Grantham). They also had two that died after childbirth, one of which was named Bobbie Ray Grantham)

My grandfather, N.C. (Needom Carroll) Grantham Jr. (b1921/d1993) married Catherine Kelly (my grandmother) and they had 2 children, Needom Carroll (Butch) Grantham (my father); and Catherine Patricia Grantham who is now a Westbrook.

My great grand father's name was Robert Grantham and his spouse was Rosa Wheeler, their children were Bessie Grantham, Annie Grantham, twins,- Charlie Grantham, and Clifton Grantham, also, we have relatives in Florida, they would be my distant cousins. Let me hear from you.

Sonya

A local cousin asked that I respond to your request for information on a line of Granthams extending back from John Calhoun Grantham,b. 1851, moved from Middleway, W.V. to Chicago, Ill. According to Robert L. Bates, The Story of SMithfield (Middleway), Jefferson County, West Virginia, Privately Published in 1958: John Calhoun Grantham was the son of John Smith Grantham (1828-1901) and Lucy Ellen Shariff (m. May 9, 1850). John Smith Grantham was the son of John Grantham (b. circa 1790, d. 1835) and Phoebe Grantham (1806-1837). This John Grantham was the son of another John, who was one of the first trustees of the incorporated town of Smithfield (Middleway) in 1798 (the other trustees were Joseph Grantham, Moses Smith and John Smith. There were two more John Granthams before this last named John - hence your confusion and everyone else's (locally, there still is a John Grantham - and James, another popular Grantham first name). Essentially, a John Smith founded Smithfield, shortly thereafter joined by Granthams and both families are still represented by descendants in Middleway. Middleway was in Virginia until the Civil War; it was in the new state of West Virginia beginning in 1863. It is located in the eastern panhandle of the state, only about 5 miles from Virginia.

You can contact members of the Middleway Conservancy to get a copy of the Robert Bates book; they republished within the past few years. I would contact Linda Fricke, 154 East St., Middleway, WV 25430. The book was first published as two volumes together - the first, a history of Middleway (Smithfield) the second, family genealogies. The volumes have been published separately in the reprint, so you want the second volume.
Sorry I didn't answer sooner, I didn't have much time for internet over the holidays.

thank you so much for your help, I appreciate it alot.. After your last posting, I went looking for the Middleway Conservancy.. I received a e-mail from Peter Fricke telling me how to obtain them.. I've been so busy with the holidays too (I work for the post office) I haven't had a chance to order yet.. But I'm going to.. I also am going to go visit Middleway for vacation this year. Mr. Fricke indicated that his house was built by a John Grantham (we aren't sure if related but mine were carpenters, one was even the undertaker).. Thanks again for your all you help in getting me in the right direction.
Thank so much for this information, and thank your cousin also. You indicated that this was a privately printed book. Do you know if a copy is available anywhere? I would be interested in purchasing a copy of it. My grandfather, Robert Grantham died before I was born. I had only met one of his sisters. And unfortunatly I didn't even think to ask about my family. My father is deceased, so all direct links to this family are gone. I do have a couple of Aunts living but they arn't very helpful. In raising my own children (who now have their own children), family has become very important to me. I want my children to know where they came from. I don't want them to have to wonder like me. This has become very interesting for me, not only knowing their names, but what their occupations were, etc... Again thank you so much for this informationa and if you know anything else about the book, and where I could get a copy of it ( I was 2 years old when it was published) please let me know..
Maybe we need to compare notes. If we can forge a link, I have documented information on some Granthams going back to 17th-century Virginia.
