Hi,

My birth father was a Granton. I have three
Thomas Granton's but the birthdates on two
don't match. Don't have any info on the third
one except his wife was Peggy. My father was
John Granton from New Haven, Conn. He was a
full blood Scott. He was born in New Haven on
Jan. 14, 1917. He died Feb 21, 1996 in Rhode
Island. His parents were John Granton, b 24 Oct
1883 in Scotland, died 18 Dec 1969. His mother
was Elizabeth Clark b. Sep. 1, 1882 d. 20 Feb.
1971 in Scotland. Who knows, maybe we link up

Trying to locate descendants of Catherine Granton b. 1864 in Paris, Ontario, who married William J. Whalen there in 1886. In a deed dated 1901 they were shown as living in village of Le Roy, Genessee County, NY & he was described as a cigar manufacturer. She is d/o John Granton (b. approx. 1828 probably in Ireland) and Catherine Brady (b. 1833 in Ontario).

Catherine Granton married William Whalen from Clinton, NY. Their first child, Leo D., who was the oldest of three children, died November 7, 1892, at the age of 3.

Looking for descendants of Agnes Granton b. Oct. 9, 1881 in Paris, ON and William Rush who married Feb. 10, 1909. Believed to have moved to Stettler, Alberta. They had 3 children: Howard, Harold and Ettie May. Agnes is d/o Patrick Granton (b. 1827, probably in Ireland) and Jeanet (Jennet) Stewart (b. 1846) of Paris.

Success!! In spite of starting with misinformation, I did find the descendants of Agnes Granton/William Rush in Stavely, not Stettler, Alberta. Also Howard was wrong; he was Leonard.

Looking for descendants of or information on death of Thomas Granton, b. May 7, 1851, s/o John Granton and Catherine Brady. In 1879 he was in Ft. Bridger, Wyoming; in 1881 Canadian census he was at home in Paris, Ontario; then he left home again and his family lost touch with him.

Looking for descendants of Johanna (aka Jenny or Jane) Granton b. Nov. 15, 1869 in Paris, Ontario, d/o Patrick Granton and Jeanet Stewart. She married William McLellan in 1894 and moved to Ingersoll, Ontario. They had five children, James, John, Kathleen (believed to have married a Mundy & moved to US), Anne (m. Jack Slattery) and William. At least one son did not marry and was a pharmacist in Michigan. Anne did not have children.

Thomas Joseph Collins, a potter, January 20, 1875 in Paris. Their first 4 children were born in Paris: Daniel (b. June 18, 1875), Ellen (b. Oct. 30, 1876), Mary (b. May 11, 1880) & Ann Gertrude (b. June 19, 1882).
