It's really great to see how many relatives live close by. When is the next Graybeal reunion?
-Eve

He researched it thoroughly when he lived in Salt Lake City and told me he had about 25,000 names. I never looked into any of it. but if she wants to know, call her Grandpa. No better source. Have a good one.......Patti from Tennessee now

They occupied the home Roy's father, Eli Henderson built in 1890 in Ashland, (Ashe Co, NC)once known as Solitude. The home still stands and after the death of Roy's daughter a few years ago, was bought by another family member. I'm going to look up your Roy for fun. Why'd he leave God's country for Peoria?
Descendants of Joseph Graybeal and Margaret Ashley

Hello!

My Grandmother, Pearl Graybeal (born Ruby Pearl) and my Grandfather, Carl Graybeal, were gg grandchildren of Joseph Graybeal and Margaret Ashley.

Pearl was the daughter of Arthur Garfield Graybeal and Myrtle "Maggie" Mercer. Arhtur and Maggie had a total of 7 children-4 girls and 3 boys. However, 2 of the boys were twins and died about a month after they were born. Maggie died 2 years later in 1918. Arthur remarried to Nancy America McCoy and had 2 more children, 1 boy and 1 girl.

Arthur's father was Eli Henderson, his mother was Mary E. Osborne. Eli's parents were Joseph Graybeal and Margaret Ashley.

Carl was the son of Newton V. Graybeal and Callie. Newton was the son of Rufus who was brothers with Eli H. and the son of Joseph and Margaret.

Pearl is 92 and lives in Lancaster Co. PA. All of her children are still living as well as their children and their children's children and she even has a few Great-Great-Grandchildren.

I haven't seen anything on this board about our Arthur and Maggie and just thought I would contribute. I am also looking for the date Arthur died. The closest information I can find is that he died at home on Little Laurel Road in Aug 1948.

I am very interested in talking with any and all Graybeal relations. Feel free to email me as well at tarae@mchsi.com

I have just begun tracing back his side of the family. My grandmother, Pearl, who is still living and sharp as a tack, was a Graybeal also. They share the same great great grandparents-Joseph Graybeal and Margaret Ashley.

My Mom has shared a few stories about my Grandfather from when he was young. If you know of any stories I would love to hear them. And I would be happy to share what I have with you.

It's been a year since you posted so I am holding out hope that you will see this post.

Re: Descendants of Joseph Graybeal and Margaret Ashley

How did it come to be that Joseph graybeal and Margaret Ashley have a son by the last name of Henderson. I have an Eli Henderson in my tree, I know his parents were Rufus and Sarah who died of typhoid when Eli was about 8yrs old. the story int he famly is all the children 13 except for oldest son all went to live with relatives, but no one really knows where. I was just wandering if this was a possibility. eli would of been born around 1875 in Tennesse, Jefferson county district 6. You can look at my public family tree under kathy wilson and see if your folks are in there somewhere. Good luck andh appy hunting. let me know.thank you
