In 1910 Emmett and Myrtle moved their family to Shady Valley, TN. Then in Oct 1916 Emmett and Myrtle moved their family to Taylor Co, KY.

Emmett and Myrtle had 9 children. (According to 1900 Census Myrtle had 5 children with 4 living. Therefore between 1891 and 1895 there was an unknown child who died young.)

2008 Graybeal Reunion - Ashe Co, NC

The 41st Annual Graybeal Reunion will be on Sunday, August 10, 2008 at the Church of Christ in Christian Union, Big Laurel Rd (NC 1315) Ashe Co, NC. An 11:00 a.m worship service is held at the Sanctuary. Everyone is invited to attend the worship service. Darrell Graybeal (Peter Sr., Henry, David, Elihu, Thomas, Bruce) is the pastor.

The Sunday Reunion will begin following the service, with the greeting of all the cousins in the Fellowship Hall. Then Lunch in the church Fellowship Hall at about 1:30 p.m. At about 2:15 group pictures will be taken, followed by a Reunion Group discussion in the main church sanctuary about 3pm with adjournment about 3:45 pm. Almost all lines related to Peter and Christina Graybill/Graybeal and their children are regularly represented at the reunion.

The church is located on Big Laurel Road (NC Route 1315) at the mouth of Roaring Fork Road When coming from Mountain City, TN take TN 167 off US 421 (at Shouns, TN), it turns into NC 1315 at the State Line. Coming from NC Route 88 take NC 1315 (Big Laurel Rd) and go west a few miles
3rd Genealogy session
We will again have a 3rd genealogical special session at the Church on Sat, Aug 9th from 10 am to 3pm. All interested cousins are urged to participate and bring their family history files and photographs for exchange. Participants bringing their own lap top or an USB external data storage device will be able to simply electronically transfer available family genealogical data to their equipment. A scanner and copy capability will be available for limited use. A limited number of data CDs will be available for a donation to the Graybeal Reunion Fund. The 2006 and 2007 genealogy sessions were very well attended and family history files and photographs were exchanged.

Most folks attending the reunion that stay in Mt City, TN stay at Americourt.

My great grandmother was Sophrona/Safronia Graybill/Graybeal/Graybeel. I am not sure of the correct spelling. I cannot find any information about her. I know that she married John Thomas Stacy in 1910. She lived in Brown Co., TX. She later married Aron Parton. Does anyone know anything about her? I also have a database of over 12,000 direct descendents of John Peter and Christina Graybill, most of these are descendents of Henry and Celia Henson Graybeal--our common ancestors.

Wow! I didn't realize how big my family was. My Granddad, Ronnie, along with Mutti, always sent us geneaology when I was growing up, but the names were always ancient ancestors. It's really great to see how many relatives live close by. When is the next Graybeal reunion?

Hi, If your friend is the Grandaughter of my Uncle Ronnie from Sylvester WVa, then he will be able to tell her anything she wants to know about the Graybeal family. He researched it thoroughly when he lived in Salt Lake City and told me he had about 25,000 names. I never looked into any of it. but if she wants to know, call her Grandpa. No better source. Hi Cindy, I believe you are the Cindy that my Dad has spoken of. My Dad is Roy Elmer Graybeal.
He has a brother Ronnie and 2 half brothers named Jack and Joe. (twins) and a sister in Ohio named Dot.
We all lived in Sylvester at one time.

Graybeal Reunion 2003

The 2003 NC Graybeal Reunion will be on Sunday August 10th, at the Church of Christ in Christian Union in Creston NC. Everyone is invited to attend the worship service at 11:00 a.m. Darrell Graybeal (Peter Sr., Henry, David, Elihu, Thomas, Bruce) is the pastor. I have a definite link for my family and the Boones, but I have a friend who thinks her family is related also (she's a Graybeal). This is just to to see if we are perhaps distant cousins.
