Can anyone help me? For many years I was told that Augustus Gustavus Groff/Graf was the only Groff/Graf that came over from Austria/Germany in 1854. That he had married Aloisia Fischer when he got to the U.S. and that he had had two sons--Augustus Gustavus II born in 1856 and Edward Groff/Graf born in 1858. I have since found that Augustus had a brother named Willabold (Changed to Willard or William) and possibly a brother named Jacob. On a trip to Auburn, Cayuga, New York recently, I found Groff(s) named Albert, Calvin, Christian, and Jerome. Does anyone know if any of these are related to Augustus? Is there any relation between any of these that anyone knows about?
