I am writing from Australia.
It's incredible to see the same Graydon christian names repeated through history :my four brothers are Richard, William, James and Robert graydon. My father was Charles Gordon Graydon, my nephews are Thomas, Mark Shaun and Matthew graydon, cousin is John Graydon.

We share a Scottish Irish heritage and our Graydon relative lived in Summerhill Road in Dublin. he was a minister.

I saw your thread concerning Newtownbutler, which I had seen when investigating the siblings my Irish great grandfather left behind when he came to the US. My great grandfather was Thomas Acheson, a Methodist pastor, whose father was a farmer in Dillagh, Co. Cavan.

The Irish National Archives has digitized the 1911 census, which not surprisingly does not show Thomas, but I was able to track down his family who were still in Dillagh. Thomas's eldest sister Elizabeth, who I knew had married a Graydon, was located in Piper's Hill, Newtownbutler, Co. Fermanagh with her husband Thomas Graydon. According to the census writeup, as of April 2, 1911, they had been married for 3 years and had a son, William Alexander (2 y.o.), and a daughter, Lily (< 1 month old). Also listed at Graydon house at the time of the census were both grandmothers, Anne Graydon (83 y.o.) and Jane Acheson (55 y.o.), no doubt helping with the rearing of the newly born daughter.

How does Thomas Graydon fit in with your Anna Elizabeth Graydon, if at all?

Hello Barbara. Yes, I did get some info from that post. Unfortunately, though, I don't know of any Driscolls in Reading or Lowell.

I do wonder though if you knew of a family living in Reading at least in the 1950's named Driscoll. I think they had 4 or 5 children. They lived off of Lowell Street, acn't recall the name of stree. I went to hs with two of the daughters one I think was Diane, and for some reason I want to say the other was either Jean or Joyce.

Just curious. Our 50th reunion is coming up in Oct and I wondered if they were going.

My grandfather was Thomas Irwin and he lived his entire life in Brantford, Ontario Canada. He died in the late 1940's, when I was a child. His four brothers had moved to California in the 30's but they lost touch to the best of my knowledge. My father has been dead thirty-five years, so I don't have any names of grandad's brothers, only a picture of them visiting the redwood forest 75 years ago. Hello - I am married to a Graydon in Canada. I understand that my husband's great grandfather came from Ireland to Canada, but I do not yet know his first name. No. I don't know af any Graydon who married a Helen Carrington or who emigrated to America. I recently found a Gredden in Newbury, New York, but have not followed it up.

I am looking for my GGfather Robert GRAYDON. He was born in Ireland according to the 1881 census when he lived in Liverpool. He was aged 50 in the census and his wife was 67.
I know he was remarried sometime around 1889 to a Margaret Jane Nicholson who is my GGMother. Does anyone have any data on a Robert Graydon born about 1881?

Interesting story but as yet I don't have any ideas. The 1901 census did point to several Graydon's from County Fermanagh so the Irish Rootsweb site might be of help. I will keep your info on file and if anything 'pops up' I will let you know.

I am also looking for a Robert Graydon, who would be my great great grandfather. My greatgrandmother was Nettie Graydon Morris. I have a picture of her mother and father, Robert and Nancy Graydon is written on the back. My grandfather thinks they may have been from Ireland. My grandmother was pregnant (Nettie) when she married Mr. Morris, not by Mr. Morris and he was 25 years her senior. I am searching for a Carol Graden (sp?) that was originally from the Rochester NY area, and lived with a Ray Halligan in Cleveland Ohio from 4/1957-6/1959 (this is based on Ray's employment records, so may be approximate timeframe). When they left Ohio in 1959, they moved to Jacksonville, Florida and ultimately lived in a city called Bayonne in Florida. If you know this woman, please contact me as soon as possible. Her parents, in the late 50's, were residing in Rochester NY, and she had a child in 58/59 that she did not have with her when she and Ray moved to Jacksonville. I am looking for the Irish connection for my family. John and Mary Graydon were married in the Townland of Giltagh, Aghavea Parish, Fermanagh, Ireland in 1825. They were married by a Rev. McWilliams. my step-grandmother is Bobbie Ruth Beck-Nickleson.

Her mother was Minnie Inez Beck; who married Otis Lamar Beck. They had the following Children:

Olive Duncan was born(1906) and lived in Dayton, OH. She married John Field Graydon and according to letters they lived in Canada. They had children, Tommy in 1941 and Debby a few years later. I am trying to locate the children to find out what happened to Olive. I doubt that she is living but you never know! Her mother, Rose Billet Duncan was killed crossing the street in Dayton in 1924.
