Andrew Millar c1827 of Greenock Scotland- d. 1898 Ararat, Australia

I am looking for the birth and or baptism of Andrew Millar who was born c1827 in Greenock, Scotland and if possible the names of his parents. He married Jane Sarah Percival in Melbourne, Victoria Australia on 8/1/1853, so maust have arrived in Australia some time before then. He died in Ararat, Victoria, Australia on 23/7/1898. His occupation in Australia was a Gold Miner. It is possible that he had a brother or father here in Australia by the name of David. Both Andrew and David are listed on the Sandhurst Boroughs - Spring Creed Division (Victoria, Aust) Roll. Place of Abode - Deaddog Gully, Occupation - Miner.
Any help finding Andrew and/or David would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Diane
defect@lizzy.com.au

My Greenock family all appear to be around the Midlothian area. Family legend tells us they came from Ireland originally, so wouldn't be surprised to find the Midlothian and Glasgow Greenocks are linked at some point.
Love to swap info and see if we can find out where!

The Greenocks of Glasgow

I set up this message board to find a family of shoemakers who moved from Ireland to Glasgow in the second half of the nineteenth century. There is an earlier history of Greenocks associated with Waterloo, but right now, we are trying to find out anything at all about the family.
