Looking for information on Alcy (Else, Elsie?) Mahalia Strickland b 8 Sep. 1854 probably in Georgia or perhaps Alabama. (Date of birth is from her death certificate with the informant being Nancy E. Dodd, her daughter).

Alcy is supposed to be the daughter of a Ben Strickland b at least before 1836 and Mary Jane Greenway b at least before 1838.
Areas of interest are:
North Carolina
Hall County, Georgia
Banks County, Georgia
Jackson County, Alabama

Ben could have been: Ben, Benjamin, Bennet or some other variant of the name.

Greenway is not a common name. I have found Greenways in Washington Co, GA; Wilson Co., TN;
Maury Co., TN; Prairie, Marion Co., AR; Pike, Elbert Co., GA; McCurry, Hart Co., GA; Gordon, GA; Poplar Springs, Banks Co., GA; Johnson Co., GA.

Specifically there is a "Mary Jane Greenway" age 17 in Gordon, GA in the 1870 Census for that county.
There is a "Mahala Greenway" age 52 in Poplar Springs, Banks Co., GA who had daughters;
Sarah 24, Nancy 22, Jane 21, Martha 14 and son James 18; 1870 Census.

The only "Mahala" Strickland I have found was in Barbour Co., Alabama in the 1870 Census with:
Jesse Strickland 47, M, Farmer, North Carolina
Celia, 47, F (Wife), Keeps House, North Carolina
Lucy, 40, F, Tennessee
Jane, 38, F North Carolina
Eliza 24, F Alabama
Mahala 22. F Alabama
The problems with this "Mahala" Strickland are the date of birth and:

Alcy Mahalia Strickland married James T Dodd likely in Hall/Banks Co., Georgia because many of their children were born there. Their last two children, Wayne Dodd b 1894 and Myrtle Dodd b 1897 were both born in Jackson County, Alabama. James T Dodd is a son of Benson W Dodd and Sarah A ? of Poplar Springs, Hall/Banks Co., Georgia. Benson W Dodd was born likely 1829 and Sarah A ? was born likely 1825.

Any help on these families would be appreciated.
