My mother in law said that a Bill Greer was scalped by Indians and left for dead. He survived and they never bothered him again. He was said to have founded a town called Greer's ville. I can't seem to find that town, so I tried Greer. Her madin name was Greer. They were also related to Stinard. (last name.) I don't know if Stinard was also in the old town, but she said they were cusins. I just wish I could have checked this out when she was still with us. We lost her in 1985. She was living in Urichsville, Ohio at the time, she was 75 then. But back then we didn't have computers, let alone know how to use them. (just a little.) If any of this sounds formiliar, you can contact me. She had 12 kids, 3 of the oldest are gone now to cancer, and the other lives ???. My husband is the next oldest, but don't remember her talking much about it.
