My grandmother's father was named -- Grief or Greif. She was adopted by a family in Center Point, Ar about 1893-4. Her name was Mildred Tilitha and had a birth brother named Robert. I don't know if they were given their names by their adoptive parents or if these were their birth names. According to family hearsay, Mr. Grief was passing through Center Point when Mildred became sick. He left her at the doctors and never returned. Also according to family heresay, my grandmother was part Indian. If anyone has a missing Greif, Grief in their research that might fit, PLEASE let me know.
