I am also related to Sir Wilfred Grenfell. I have a fairly extensive family tree for the Grenfell's of St. Just and Taplow Court beginning with Pascoe Greindfeld and Julian Oates, married in 1658 through current day. As near as I can I can figure, his grandfather Pascoe and my great-great-great-grandfather William were brothers. I also have a biography of Sir Wilfred, "Wilfred Grenfell, His Life and Works" by J. Lennox Kerr, published 1959, library of congress #59-13340. He married Anne Elizabeth Caldwell MacClanahan, only child of a lawyer who had served as Provost Marshal with the Confederate Army in the American Civil War, November 1909 in Grace Episcopal Church, Chicago, IL. His mother was a Hutchinson, a daughter of a colonel in the Royal Engineers in India. An ancestor of her's was Colonel John Hutchinson, one of Cromwell's officers and a signator of Charles II's death warranty. Sir Wilfred's father was Rev Algernon Grenfell, a schoolmaster. The book ties the Grenfell lineage via the Granvilles who arrived with William the Conqueror in 1066.
