Grenville, George. 1712-1770. British statesman.
Prime Minister, 1763-1765; responsible for the Grenville Acts (the Stamp Act, the Currency Act, and the American Revenue Act), which began the policy of taxation of the American colonies and were a precipitating force in the American Revolution.
