On the same film as my previous post, there is a long handwritten paper about Griffins in VA, NC,GA starting with Richard Griffin, who came to VA 1747, Thomas Griffin Sr. born 1748, Thomas Griffin Jr., born 1778, Thomas Culpper Griffin, born 1811. There is also another typed paper about Gov. Griffin's family tree (GA), the "Griffins of South Georgia", sent to the Dept. of Archives and History (GA) by Margaret M. Hames, which traces the ancestry back to James and Sarah Lodge Griffin who came from NC before 1814 and first settled in Montgomery Co., GA and later settled in Irwin Co., GA.
