Classification: Query
Surnames: Griffin, Stephens
HI
I am searching for descendents of this family listed on the 1881 English census( district:Cheltenham, Gloucester, England)
Household:
Name Relation Marital Status Gender Age Birthplace Occupation Disability
Bennett GRIFFIN Head M Male 31 Skipsea, York, England Farm Bayliff
Emma GRIFFIN Wife M Female 24 Forest Of Dean, Gloucester, England
George E. GRIFFIN Son Male 5 Cheltenham, Gloucester, England Scholar
Edith C. GRIFFIN Daur Female 3 Cheltenham, Gloucester, England
Charles E.B. GRIFFIN (possibly Charles W. B. Griffin) Son Male 10 m Uphatherley, Gloucester, England
Emma's maiden name was Stephens and her family hailed from the Forest of Dean/ East Dean.
Bennett came to Canada shortly after the census was taken and remarried. I am trying to determine what happened to his first wife and his children.
Emma's brother Benjamin Stephens seemed to relocate to Cardiff Wales and her other siblings were around Weston Herefordshire and East Dean in Gloucester but I cannot locate Emma and her children in any census.
Bennett and Emma were married Feb 18th, 1875 in Swinden. She listed her father as Benjamin Stephens - Baptist Minister.
ANY leads or ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
