Hey Patricia, even I'm shure there is no relationship between us I think you might be interested in th "Grocki"-situation in Germany. In the telefone-register you find not more then 4 families including us (my husband Kurt and the children Melanie, Ines and Tim). Artur is his only uncle with two daughters Nora und Uta. The other persons we dont know but my husbands father visited some relatives near cologne in his youth and at least one of them seems to be gone to USA. The funny fact is that our name is very often confused with "Gorki". as the russian Author Maxim Gorki, combined with "Grock" the famous clown some deciennies ago, many make jokes cause it sounds like groggy for them, even in quite a lot of google-hits people mean groggy by writing grocki. My son Tim Grocki is not the one you find as IT-worker at Novell in USA though he would like to be something like that after his informatik-studies.
My husbands grand-grandfather came to westgermany from east-prussia which was german at that time, but is now polish, but far away from Krakau. On polish internetsites you can find out that grocki might be a name of old landlord families but being pauper for many generations. In our family anyway no rich anchesters can be found so far.
I hope you will be succesfull in your search, greetings from one Grocki to another
Elke Grocki
