Matthew Groeninger Information help

On the 1850 Cenus for Liberties, PA I have a Matthew Groeninger and family. I can't seem to find where he fits into my line. Can anyone track his parents down for me please?

Information I have from the Census:

Matthew Groeninger (weaver), Germany born abt 1829
children:
wife I believe: Elizabeth abt 1831
name I can't make out (male) 1838
Caroline 1841 (female)
Louisa 1842 (female)
Catherine 1845 (female)
Elizabeth 1847(female)
Geo. 1849 (female)

I am thinking he might be like a brother or something to someone in my tree but haven't been able to track his parents down. As I show my Groeninger's coming from Germany to Pennsylvania and then Indiana. Am thinking maybe he is related to Fredrick Groeninger (1809 Germany) or Henry Groeninger (abt 1838 PA and died in 1913 Vanderburgh Co. IN.

Thanks for your help,
Brandie
There is a William Groeninger, age 7, on the 1900 census in Pigeon, Vanderburgh, Indiana. Father Jacob, mother listed as Millie. Could this be the family? Census records are often wrong on names, ages etc. There is a Wilburn Groeninger on an Ancestry Member Tree but he was born in 1913 so wouldn`t appear on the 1900 census. There is a Wilbren Groeninger on the SSDI born July 1913, d. May 1975. The card was issued in Indiana.

Pat R.

I believe Catherine Groeninger and Michael Feiock are my husband's g-g-g-grandparents. His g-g-grandfather is Louis Feiock, born May 13, 1842. I noted on one of the e-mails that Catherine and Michael had 7 children; I have only Louis at this time. He married Barbara Munch (Muench?) and they are both also buried in Lutheran Cemetery, Palmyra. The family line gets a little hazy beyond Catherine and Michael. I have run into some discrepancies. Most of my information comes from my husband's aunt. Would be very interested in sharing information.

John Conrad Jurgens was my GGGrandfather. His son John Jerome Jurgens came to Ohio as a teacher. My mother is a decendent thru this line. I would be very interested in any information you have on Charlotte and John Jurgens. There were two daughters who I have very little information except that one was a cloistered nun according to an uncle( if that is true). I have traveled to Baltimore and visited Holy Redeemer Cemetary and took pictures of their tombstones and looked for records but only got so much information. Do you know if Charlotte's father was John Groeninger? You can e-mail me at cmoore3636@cs.com if it is easier that ancestry.com Hoping to hear from you. I would also be glad to give you any information I have on the Jurgens.

Dear Jacob,
There are two great sources to look up your family in Evansville. First go to the Willard Library, second floor, and ask for help. They can refer you to many index books for births and deaths, just remember it was more likely to be spelled Groninger, with two dots over the o. Second, I believe they were members of St. Paul's UCC, you can try there as well.
Carol

John:
There are several families of Groeningers who settled in St. Louis, MO, as did my ancestor John Groeninger. He was born in Baden, Germany. I have been told if "Groeninger" is spelled the same the families are usually related somehow, sine it is not a very common name in the U.S. at least.
Do you know who Ella Mae Groeninger's parents were or where they lived before Southern, IL?
Don't know if I can answer any questions for you but I am willing to try.
Carolyn Green

But I did get the information to Dick before he finished his book. He is also related to both names. Your husband must have been a nephew of our Frederick. I wish mine was still alive I know he would truly be fascinated by the news. I am very anxious to get this latest developement to my sister-in=law.We did not know these other families existed.Thank you so much for your help. I believe your Catherine may be our family. Would you like an update on our branch? Pat

Mary, So sorry, after I read your second message I realized I had a senior moment and had it wrong in my head. We had several Catherine Groeningers in our family but not the one you were looking for. Friederick Groeninger married Margaretha Feiock and several of his decendents were named Catherine. Dick and I have puzzeled over the fact of a relationship of your family. Can you enlighten us in anyway? I must get you the German family tree from the internet and you will see the close akin between the Feiocks and the Groeningers. Please try to contact him over the internet, He has just finished a book on his family. He is a true genealogist. Pat
