I found where August and Anna are burried and had plaques placed at their graves in Boerne. Their son Emil and wife Vronica had a son named Charlie. Charlie is my husband's grandfather and is 102 years old. He recently moved in with my family. Please feel free to contact me.

Hello Michael,

Looks like you and I are cousins and descend from the same family -- August Grohman/ Anna Winkler who immigrated in Nov 1861 into the port of Galveston on the Brig Georg.

I descend from their son Charles who married Sarah Frances Smith.

If you are still around the list would like to exchange info and maybe work on researching the parents of our common ancestors.

I am a cousin too!!!

My family line is great great great grandparents August Grohman and Anna Winkler; great great grandparents Charles Grohman and Sarah Francis Smith; great grandparents Louis Grohman and Sadie Britzke; grandparents Milton Grohman and Josephine Macey; parents Douglas Grohman and Karolyn Slaughter to me Kimberly Grohman.

I would love to have some pictures of Charles and family. I have all these names and would love to put faces to them.

My grandpa Milton had a brother Melvin George otherwise known as Bobby Grohman that moved to North or South Carolina (i dont recall which). Are you one of his relations?

I was wondering if your related to the Grohmans of Pennsylvania. They origially immigrated from Germany during the 1870's. They were Frank with his wife and atleast two sons: Frank JR. and Paul Grohman.

I just received the death certificate of my great-great grandfather. His name was Paul Grohman JR. His parents were of Germany. Their names were Frank and Wilhemina Grohman. Is there a connection? They each migrated from Germany in 1872. I do not have any other info. besides the fact that Frank was probably a miner in PA., considering that they settled in Freeland, (Luzerne County), PA. Thank you for any assistance with my question.

I was wondering if you are speaking about Anna Grohman (Decavage). Did she have two brothers, one paul, and the other was Frank. I live in Luzerne County, PA., the Hazleton area to be exact, and I was wondering if you are related to those Grohmans.

I know of the Grohman's which you speak of, and I believe they were my relatives too. My great-great-grandfather was Paul Grohman. His brother was Frank also. They came from Germany. I believe they are the correct ones.

Thank you for the input. Unfortunatly this wasn't the one I was looking for. Do you know of any other Grohmans in the Minnesota area or that came over from Germany? The Albert Grohman was married to a Mabel Munger and then divorced, and she married a Rosenau.
I believe his Father's name was also Albert and his mother Wilhelmina (Spitzack) Grohman. He had brothers: Frank, Emil, Paul, and Herman. Sisters: Anna, Emma, Emilia, and Louise.

My family tree goes back to August and Anna Grohman who crossed over from Austria/Germany in 1861 aboard the vessel GEORG and arrived at the port of New Orleans the same year.

There is record of another Grohman(n) family immigrating to the U.S. in 1867. (reference Ship's Passenger Lists, by S.C. Easley, for the Port of Galveston, printed by the Southern Historical Press--1984 volume, page 91) The passengers included the following: Anna Grohman--age 7
Anna Grohman--age 42
Anton Grohman--age 14
Berta Grohman--age 4
George Grohman--age 41
Louise Grohman--age 11
Rosine Grohman--age 1

Another volume, "Czech Immigrant Passenger List", volume 2, by Leo Baca, published 1985 by Halletsville Old Publishing Co. on page 195, lists these same names but the spelling is with two "n's". All references list the arrival at Port of Galveston as 1867. This family arriving some six years after my ancestors arrived in New Orleans, probably left their homes during or right after the Austrian-Prussian war. There is no hint to where this immigrant family settled, or if there is any relationship to my ancestors, the August/Anna Grohman family. So, it is possible that your "Albert" may not be in my ancestry list, but ya never know. There are always holes to filled in. Let me know of your findings.

The only Albert Grohman I have listed in my records is an Albert Grohman, born 07/13/1897, died 07/28/1897, he is buried in the Assumption Of The Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery at String Prairie, Bastrop County, Texas. He died at 15 days old. So, this is probably NOT the person you are looking for. However, if you can provide other names, other than the ones you made reference to in your post, perhaps I can locate them. Sorry, this was not much help.
