Harry L. Grohs, 79, of 100 West Butler street, Shickshinny, died at 7:15 a.m., Tuesday at Berwick hospital. He was admitted to the hospital on Monday. He had been hospitalized frequently during a 16 year illness.
Born in Shickshinny on May 13, 1897, he was the son of the late Frank and Susan Kester Grohs. He spent his entire life in Shickshinny and attended Shickshinny schools. He was employed at the Glen Alden Coal Co., Wanami and retired in 1960.
He and his wife, the former Blanche Sager, of Sheatown, marked their 42nd wedding anniversary on last December 11. In addition to his wife he is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Friday morning at 10 from the Zofcin Funeral Home, Shickshinny, with Rev. Warren Birdsall, pastor of the Bible Baptist Church, Shickshinny, officiating. Burial will be at Pine Hill cemetery, Shickshinny.
