Thomas Jefferson Groom (1834 Lancaster Co, PA -?) married Martha M.Smith (1834-?). They had the following children: Dora, Rachel, Annie, Bertha, Alice & George, all born Clearfield County, PA. In 1900 census a grandson, Amos E. (b.1884) was living with Thomas & Martha. Since son George would have been too young to be Amos' father, I believe Amos may have been the illegitimate son of one of the girls. He married Iva Ruth, abt. 1907 and had the following children: Anna, Samuel, Thomas, Amos, Helen, William, Iva, Gordon & Betty. Amos E.'s death certificate lists parents as ?. Informant was wife. Looking to solve this mystery!
Amos E. died in NJ in 1856 and is buried in Clearfield County.
