I was hanging on to your every word. It all seemed so very possible that you were telling the story of my ancestors. But a Y-chromosome test of our male Gross relative placed him into the E1B1a group, with absolutely NO MATCHES. I find it hard to believe that there were no matches and wonder if the sample could have been compromised in some way. Everyone else in the family who took DNA tests had dozens of matches. I've never heard of anyone having no matches. Have you? I'm reluctant to ask him to do it again -- he's quite sensitive, and I was lucky to have him agree to it the first time. His father wasn't interested, and they're our only hope for Gross Y-chromosome DNA evidence.
