Hi Jeff,
I too am looking for information on a George Gross. The time he was born seems to fit in with the info that I have. My great Grandmother, (born Oct 26, 1908), her father was named James Franklin Gross(died sometime in the 1920s). He had a first wife name unknown to me, but I know they had some children named George, Will, Fannie, and another girl who died young ( I am missing 2 names because I know he had 13 children through both marriages). His first wife died young and he married his second wife (my ggrandmothers mom) who was Sarah Isabell Gross(maiden name Chadwell). Through that marriage they had John, David, Ed, Sudie, Rose (Rosie), Fayett, Cora(my ggrandmother), and Mat.(many of these spellings I believe are nicknames/shortened) The earliest children were believed to be born in the 1890s. My great grandmother grew up in the Knoxville/ Barboursville KY area and eventually moved to Harlan County. Any information further back than James Franklin Gross I do not know. All of this information is from what my grandmother has told me. If you (or anybody else!!) have questions or any info for me please contact me by posting here or emailing me at jenessa19@hotmail.com
